Description
American Madison, Connecticut Queen Anne high chest of drawers or highboy, 1770-1780, having a red painted surface, the upper case with a shaped cornice above a central concave shell central drawer flaked by four drawers with four drawers below, the lower case with a central long drawer flanked by two short drawers, scalloped apron, and rising on cabriole legs with pad feet, having no apparent marks.

Provenance: Provenance: Deacon John Grave�s house (British/American, 1633-1695) Madison, Connecticut; Private Collection, Hampton, Connecticut; thus by descent to the Charlotte Low Langes family. Dimensions: h. 79", w. 43.5", d. 21".
