Description
Indian, 20th century. Large carved rosewood sculpture of a cobra depicted coiled with its head raised and hood flared, features a metal tongue, inset white bead eyes, and detailed scales, label to the bottom "Singapore, India, 1963" and "rosewood".

Condition
The head of the snake swivels, scattered wear to the finish, a small cracked area on the front lower side, and small screw holes on the top of the head, hole at the back of the head has been drilled through to the bottom of the neck, and was likely intended for the insertion of a lamp cord.
