Description
Jean Lurcat (French, 1892-1966) for Sant Vicens Ceramiques (French, founded 1942). Untitled - Five Modern Polychrome Plates including Figural Abstract and Owl - mid-20th century, glazed ceramic, signed to the underside.

Provenance: Acquired from Galerie La Licorne in France in the 1960's. Also accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity from Jean Lurcat. The Estate of Louis & Helen Regenstein, Jr., Atlanta, GA.
Louis Jr. was the eldest son of Louis & Venia Regenstein, Sr., founders of Regenstein's Department Store. Louis Jr. served as senior partner at the law firm now known as Kilpatrick, Townsend & Stockton. Helen served on many philanthropic committees and boards throughout her life including The Alliance Theatre, The High Museum, and The Temple, and also served as Parliamentarian of the Atlanta Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
