Description
Attributed to Evans of Handsworth (English, flourished 1860s-1880s), 19th century. Skeletonized brass cathedral shape clock in the form of Westminster Abbey, double fusee movement, drop hammer strike on single chime bell at the half hour, rear coil gong strikes on the hour, pull string to set gong hammer into motion, silver dial with Roman numerals having distinct Handsworth markings and correct blued hands, mounted to a marble and wood base, retailed by Bailey, Banks and Biddle (American (Philadelphia), operated 1832-2023). apparently unmarked to maker.

Condition
Running fine but somewhat slow, needs professional cleaning and oiling, chime and gong work as intended, gong stanchion is a little loose and needs the seat tightened, missing dome, all chains complete and tight, no key provided, key is a standard size, we used one of our in house keys to wind.
