Rituale romanum Pauli V ... jussu editum, printed 1795. Bound in period tooled red leather with elaborate gilt on both covers, spine, and page edges. Held together with two complete clasps in a silver color. The edge contains a wonderful painting of a Saint by a building with what looks like a book. Most likely the painting is of St Jerome. Inside the covers are marbled papers with a provenance bookplate for Robert P. Oreck; tipped in on third front paper is a cut out from the auction of which this was purchased. Condition
The leather has an overall even tone with some very light scuffs and wear to the edges at the bottom rear from shelving. Clasps are complete and original. Crisscrossing worm tracks on 393-448 as well as single tracks throughout not affecting h. 9.1875", w. 7.25"
